Most bridal accessories are chosen. A LAFORET custom piece is decided, then made.
We hear from brides who have found almost everything they need. The dress is settled. The palette is set. What is missing is one piece that matches it exactly, a comb in the right ivory, a vine dyed to sit against a specific shade of blush, earrings that echo a detail from a grandmother's veil. That gap is where a custom order begins.
Why We Dye Our Own Silk
Every flower we make starts as undyed silk. We mix the color ourselves in the studio, testing swatches against the fabric or inspiration image a bride has sent us, until the shade is right. This is the part of the process most stores skip. It is also the part that makes a true custom match possible. A ready-made flower can only ever be close to your palette. A hand-dyed one can be built to match it.
Once the color is right, each petal is cut, shaped over heat with wooden tools passed down through traditional millinery technique, and layered by hand into a bloom. Centers are hand painted so the depth reads properly in photographs. No two flowers come out quite the same, which is expected of something made by hand rather than pressed from a mold.
What Custom Actually Means Here
A custom order with LAFORET is not a blank page. It is a conversation. You bring the vision, whatever form it takes, an inspiration photo, a fabric swatch, a single word like "rust" or "quiet." Lyda takes it from there, walking you through what is possible in silk, what will hold its shape through a full wedding day, and what will photograph well under different lighting.

Every piece is made to order in our Dallas studio, by hand, one at a time.
How It Works
The process is simple by design.
- Email admin@laforetstore.com with your vision, inspiration images, and your wedding date.
- Lyda reviews your request and sends back what is possible, along with a price estimate, before anything is confirmed.
- Once confirmed, your piece is made by hand in the studio and shipped directly to your door, typically within three to four weeks.
We recommend reaching out early, particularly for wedding-day pieces where timing matters.
