Lyda Montes, the creative force behind LAFORET (The Forest), has embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of fashion and design. Her path has been shaped by experiences in the advertising business and a deep-rooted passion for creativity.

Lyda laid the foundation for her career by studying fashion design and pattern making. This early education provided her with essential skills that would later prove invaluable in her design process.

After getting married and relocating to Arizona, Lyda initially ventured into the advertising industry. This detour, while different from her original path, provided her with valuable insights into public relations and brand development.

Driven by an innate need for creative expression, Lyda eventually found her way back to the world of design. This return to her roots culminated in the creation of LAFORET, a brand that embodies her artistic vision and passion for fashion.

Lyda's design process is defined by artistry and delicate craftsmanship, with inspiration drawn from nature’s beauty, her love of watercolor painting, and elements inspired by the drama of Haute Couture. To further refine her skills and expand her knowledge, she has pursued additional education in fashion design, completing courses at the prestigious Parsons School of Design, LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Certificate) and MoMA. These educational experiences have contributed to the sophistication and artistic quality of her designs for LAFORET.

In addition to her curated collections, Lyda delights in working on commission. Whether you have a specific vision in mind, missed out on a previous piece, or wish to collaborate on something unique, she warmly welcomes the opportunity to create a piece made especially for you.

Every creation from our studio is a testament to artistry, meticulously handcrafted using traditional millinery techniques, hand painting, clay molding, and intricate wire work. Nestled in our intimate atelier in Dallas, Texas, we are dedicated to excellence in every facet of our craft. We source only the finest materials: natural silks, european and Japanese glass, and pay careful attention to each stitch and embellishment. Our goal is to not only meet but exceed our clients' expectations, delivering exclusive accessories that are destined to be cherished for generations.
