LAFORET (The Forest) was built on a simple belief: your wedding accessories should be as considered as your dress. Not mass-produced. Not an afterthought. Made by hand, made with intention, and made for you.

The Designer

Lyda Montes is the designer and maker behind every LAFORET piece. Born from a lifelong passion for fashion and craft, her work is shaped by training at Parsons School of Design, a certificate from LVMH, and fashion courses at MoMA. She draws inspiration from nature, watercolor painting, and the drama of Haute Couture, bringing that sensibility into every headpiece, necklace, and earring she creates.

Before founding LAFORET, Lyda built a career in advertising and brand development, giving her a rare combination of creative precision and an understanding of what makes a brand feel truly exceptional. LAFORET is the culmination of everything she has learned and everything she loves.

The Atelier

Every piece is made by hand in our intimate studio in Dallas, Texas. We use traditional millinery techniques, hand painting, clay molding, and intricate wire work, paired with the finest materials: natural silks, European and Japanese glass, and hand-selected embellishments sourced with care.

We believe your wedding day should create beautiful memories while caring for the environment. That is why LAFORET operates on a no-waste philosophy. We make only what we sell, never overproducing, never contributing to the excess that defines fast fashion. Every piece is made to order, which means nothing goes to waste, and every order receives the full attention it deserves.
